Join us for a weekend of floral design, photography and styling when the flower gardens are overflowing with fall color, textures, and warm natural lighting. UK’s talented photographer, Janne Ford, who has work with David Austin Roses, The Real Flower company, and The Strawberry Hill House flower festival will lead you through a weekend of capturing the beauty of flowers through creative imagery.
Topics may include but are not limited to:
Day 1 - Compote Design, Outdoor Photography & Styling
- Recognizing & being Inspired by seasonal flowers and natural light
- Shooting in full sun, shade, and creating outdoor scenes
- Styling a tablescape with candles, silks, flowers, and tableware
- Shooting at sunset and after the sun goes down
Day 2 - Handheld Design, Indoor Photography & Styling
- Sunrise garden photography
- Mechanics of designing in your hand for a styled shoot
- Use of shadows, backdrops, and props
- Styling and shooting a Dutch Master Style still life
- Simple post processing

Time: 10-7 (Day 1), 7-3 (Day 2)
Includes: Refreshments and lunch on both days, plus one farm-to-table dinner.
Taught by Janne Ford @jannelford on Instagram with assistance from Gina, owner of SHEGROWS. Space is strictly limited so conversation and work can be intimate. Students should bring a camera, either DSLR or camera phone. Bring the camera that you use the most. This retreat is not about teaching students how to use their camera so please bring a camera that you are comfortable using on a daily basis.

If you need to cancel your place in the retreat, please send an email to gina@shegrows.com at least 90 days before the date of the retreat and you'll receive a full refund. After 90 days there are no refunds due to the cost involved in organizing a retreat. We recommend you take out travel insurance as you would do with any holiday.
